To pin the
"habit" down, you can approach it like nailbiting. My strategy was to
ensure really good hypnosis was achieved and then create an arm catalepsy.
It takes some hypnotic confidence to do, but seems to work wonders (my
last client asked me if I had cast a spell on her!). So get the person
deep, then get them to imagine that their arm (the one they pick with) is
becoming heavier and heavier.......
"your arm is more and more deeply relaxed and the more deeply your arm
relaxes, the heavier it becomes....that arm now so heavy it weighs a
ton....two tons......it's so heavy now that even if you TRIED to lift it
you'd find it simply impossible...don't try just yet...just feel that arm
weighing two tons.....and now imagine now that your arm is made of
metal...you can feel it cool and rigid like iron.....and this is a metal a
thousand times heavier than iron....and super magnetic....and the couch or
chair is a super electric magnet pulling that arm down so that even if you
tried to lift it you would find that you cannot.......that magnet pulling
your arm tighter to the cpouch...tighter...tighter, so tight that it's
stuck fast...so that even if you tried to life it you cannot......and the
harder you try to lift it, the heavier it becomes...now try...try
hard........and find that you cannot....heavy ,
heavier....stuck.......tight..
....." Obviously then you use more urgency if the arm starts to
lift.......and don't give more than 2-3 seconds of effort....then
"Relax!"....relax that arm and feel that relaxation spreading out into
every muscle cell and fibre etc....
Now you have hypnosis and you go on to suggest that they can experience
this heavy feeling as pure relaxation....then you simply anchor that
feeling into a p/h suggestion....so you say "should your hand ever begin
to reach to pick/pluck a hair, you will immediately feel such a deep and
profound relaxation that your arm will simply relax...just like it is
now......You will of course be able to move it normally if you choose to
do so, but you will choose to just enjoy that feeling of relaxation
throughout your entire body, and your arm will relax deeply....." Continue
with suggestions to suit the client, but the arm catalepsy is the
clincher.....This is of course a shortened version to save writing too
much...but that's the essence....I've found it highly effective! Same will
work for nailbiting too... |
